Open Positions:

Veterinary Technician

The veterinary technician supports the veterinarian in the care of animals. Some of the responsibilities of a veterinary technician include:

  • Assisting veterinarians during exams and procedures, including holding animals and administering medication.
  • Preparing animals for surgery, monitoring them during surgery, and providing post-operative care.
  • Performing dental cleanings and creating dental charts.
  • Collecting and analyzing samples, such as blood and urine, to assist with diagnoses.
  • Administering medications, vaccines, and other treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian.
  • Conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and laboratory tests.
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring that all information is up-to-date and organized.
  • Providing basic animal care, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
  • Educating pet owners about animal health and behavior and providing advice on proper care and treatment.
  • Maintaining inventory and ordering supplies as necessary.
  • Assisting with the euthanasia process, including comforting grieving pet owners.

In addition to these duties, veterinary technicians may also be responsible for supervising and training other staff members, as well as maintaining equipment and facilities. A veterinary technician must have a strong knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with veterinarians, other staff members, and pet owners.

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:15 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM
